The national observation services (SNOs) IRAM and ALMA-ARC are two services dedicated to millimeter and submillimeter observations. These ibservations are conducted by IRAM for the 30m radio telescope and the NOEMA interferometer, and by the JAO for the ALMA interferometer. The three main missions of these services are :

  • Support for observations carried out with NOEMA and ALMA, in connection with IRAM : conducting NOEMA observations, supporting investigators applying for NOEMA and ALMA observations.
  • Development of interferometric imaging, visualization, and data mining software for ALMA and NOEMA (IMAGER and YaFITS] software, Artemix service).
  • Support for observations conducted with the NIKA2 camera at the IRAM 30m telescope : development and optimization of the data pipeline.

The LUX is responsible for designing and developing software and services aimed at facilitating access to and mining of radio astronomy archive data. These distributed tools (in client-server mode), such as Artemix (ALMA Remote Mining Experiment) and YaFITS] (Yet Another FITS viewer), are based on the principle of data exploration via a dedicated remote analysis platform.
