The advent of high-power laser facilities has made it possible to study astrophysical phenomena in the laboratory. By reaching the extreme conditions of matter present in many astrophysical environments, it is now possible to study the physics of stellar interiors, particle acceleration in supernova shocks, and jets dominated by magnetic fields observed around young stars or compact objects.
These laboratory experiments allow researchers to deepen their understanding of the mechanisms governing astrophysical plasmas and to validate theoretical models.
