
High-Resolution Vacuum Ultraviolet (VUV) Spectroscopy of Heavy Elements

A vast amount of atomic laboratory data is required to interpret observations and model astrophysical plasmas. We study the emission spectra of lanthanide ions using a 10.7m vacuum spectrograph and parametric quantum calculations.
Examples of Applications :
- Determining abundances in stellar and solar atmospheres.
- Understanding the opacity of kilonovae.
