Computational Plasma Physics
Supernova explosions, ultra-relativistic outflows triggered by the merger of compact objects, and violent manifestations of neutron star magnetospheres are prototypical examples of matter under extreme and poorly understood conditions. Advances in the development of new codes, combined with the expansion of supercomputing resources, enable detailed modeling of plasma physics, radiative processes, and self-consistent particle acceleration in these astrophysical environments.
Our laboratory is heavily involved in high-performance computing and the development of advanced numerical methods to support theoretical research and data analysis applied to space and astrophysical plasmas.
