Voyage into the Engine with the Webb telescope
The project aims to explore the interplay between Black-Hole feeding and AGN-feedback mechanisms in the core of massive galaxies. VIEWS leverages the capabilities of the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) to provide high-resolution imaging and spectroscopy of five selected Brightest Cluster Galaxies.
These observations will map warm molecular gas, ionised gas and dust. Exploiting our JWST data will contribute to the understanding of the co-evolution of super-massive-black-holes and galaxies.
Our team gathers experts of multi-wavelength observations and data analysis, photo-ionisation and shock models, state of the art hydrodynamical simulations from the Observatoire de Paris LUX, IAP and LPENS.
